Good Morning:
Yes, I have heard it remarked that there is a "nip" in the air, and I would agree with this assessment. The nip has arrived ahead of our next rain-system -- yet, this is relatively small system that will bring just light rain later this afternoon into tonight.
The nip will be followed by a strong warm-up, which will last a few days as winds turn more southerly. However, the strong warm-up will be followed at the end of the week by an abrupt transition to much colder temperatures. Some of the ensemble members have temperatures at 500 mb falling below -25 C, and to near near or zero at 850 mb. Looking at the weather maps, one sees cold air poised just to our north, so winter may be making a come back. In any case, rain is expected either on Shabbat or early next week.
