Weather It Is (Going, going, gone...)

What's that?  The winter.

Horace Greeley said: "Go West," and that's what winter is doing.

The weather pattern is still cold -- at least the weather has not gone north to look for the northwest passage, but it has shifted to the west.

What does this mean for us?  It means that an area of low pressure situated to our west will pull plenty
of warm (spring-like?) air northward into our area, and the heavy and persistent rains of this past month (which, by the way, set a record for number of rainy days in January) will be -- like the month itself -- a thing of the past.

Of course, we're all optimists, and winter just might make a comeback late next week.  On the other hand, it might not, and then where will we be?

Perhaps rooting for the "Mets." "Let's go Winter, let's go winter!"
