Weather It Is (Travelors Advisory)

Good Afternoon:

The most significant storm in years will be coming to an end, but the freezing cold will linger through tonight, moderate a bit on Friday, a bit more on Saturday, and then a week long warm up will begin. Over the course of the week, temperatures will warm up by almost 15 C!

The reason for the warm up is that the coldest air is shifting westward.  Ahead of the cold weather system winds will blow strongly out of the south as the week progresses.   Winter does not seem to be over, though, as we can see another (most likely rain) system moving in at the end of the week.  Looking at the ensemble forecast, a few members are indicating "something" a bit colder than just rain, but the consensus is currently for a wide spread rain in our next storm

Until the warm-up, temperatures will be below freezing, especially at night, and the roads will be icy in the mountainous areas.!
